This policy explains how I handle personal information collected through this website. In this policy, "I", "me" and "my" mean Harry Payne, a sole trader trading as Stanford Heating & Plumbing, based in Essex.

Who is responsible for your information

I am the controller of the personal information you give me through this website.

What information I collect

When you fill in the quote form, I receive:

  • your name
  • your phone number
  • your email address
  • your postcode
  • the type of job (bathroom, or plumbing and heating)
  • anything you write in the message box

If you call or email me directly, I receive whatever details you choose to share.

How I use it

I use your information only to reply to your enquiry. That means getting back to you, arranging a visit if one is needed, and giving you a quote. I do not use it for marketing, and I do not sell it or pass it on to anyone for their own use.

My lawful basis under UK GDPR is that the processing is needed to take steps you have asked for before entering into a contract (giving you a quote) and, if you go ahead, to carry out that contract. Where neither applies, I rely on my legitimate interest in responding to people who contact me.

Who else handles it

Your form details are processed by the companies that run this website and my email on my behalf:

  • Squarespace, which hosts this website and delivers form submissions to me
  • my email provider, where I receive and reply to enquiries

These providers may store information outside the UK. Where they do, they use legal safeguards approved under UK data protection law.

How long I keep it

I keep enquiry details only for as long as I need them to deal with your enquiry. If you become a customer, I keep job and invoice records for as long as the law requires for tax and accounting purposes, and then delete them.

Cookies

This website is hosted on Squarespace, which uses cookies that are needed for the site to work. Squarespace may also use analytics cookies to show me how many people visit the site. Where these are not essential, you will be asked for consent through the cookie banner. You can find out more in Squarespace's cookie policy.

Your rights

You have the right to:

  • ask for a copy of the information I hold about you
  • ask me to correct it
  • ask me to delete it
  • object to or ask me to limit how I use it
  • ask me to send it to you or someone else in a usable format

Complaints

If you are unhappy with how I have handled your information, please tell me first so I can put it right. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.

If I change this policy, I will update it on this page and change the date at the top.
